A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
It really is blasphemy in the eyes of some to label this movie anything but “epic,” but when one sifts through all of the smoke and mirrors that make up A Nightmare on Elm Street it’s clear that the film has a lot working against it.
Alice in Wonderland
Bad-Elaine-Benes-dances aside, this is a wonderfully imaginative movie that’s got just the right amount of subtext for the kiddies. There are times where it’s likely too dark for especially sensitive viewers, but most of the children present at the screening I attended were giggling and marveling for the bulk of the 108 minute runtime. And that, in and of itself, is quite an accomplishment.
Public Enemies
Though Public Enemies is somewhat anti-climatic, it’s an intriguing character study of John Dillinger, one of the most glamorous fugitives in U.S. history.
